Library

The Washington-Henry School Library allows students to engage in innovative learning. Our librarian, Allison Letourneau, collaborates with all teachers to help reinforce the content they teach in the classrooms by ensuring cross-curricular alignment is in place. Students participate in coding and integrating 21st-century technology skills, which helps them achieve success. Most importantly, WHES students develop an interest and have a voice in the books they choose, ultimately inspiring a passion for literature.

We strive to foster a community that is all about having fun and sharing the love of reading, learning, creativity, and curiosity!

Policies and Procedures

All WHES students may check out books during their class’s weekly library time. Kindergarten students start the year checking out one book and then progress on to three books in the winter. First through third grade students may check out three books every week, while fourth and fifth grade students may check out five books. In order to check out a new book every week, you must return your books.

If a student fails to bring in his/her library book or if it is lost or damaged, we will assess a fine to pay for the price of the book and the required library-style binding.

Students may also check out books during the morning checkout time from 7:45 to 8:05 a.m.
