Student holding The Year of the Dog book

Our One School One Book title was revealed! After a week of clues, we now know that the title is The Year of the Dog by Grace Lin! We are excited to share that each student received a copy of this book, and we will be sending information home with how to participate throughout the month!

One School One Book is a program where children at all grade levels read and/or listen to the same book. Reading aloud is valuable as it builds literacy skills that support students in becoming effective readers. We selected a title that younger students can follow, understand, and enjoy and will captivate and interest older children.

A PTA meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. Families can join on Zoom at 6:00 p.m. to hear the final chapter 29 read by a special guest. You can hold off on reading the last chapter until this evening if you choose to do so. We will share trivia questions for chapter 29 on Wednesday, January 27. At the meeting, we will also recognize students and families who completed activities and announce students who will receive scholastic gift certificates.

Thank you for supporting literacy at home and school. We hope your family enjoys The Year of the Dog.
